Alexis Katz, DO, CCD
Dr. Katz grew up in Virginia Beach, VA before moving to South Florida as a teenager. She completed her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Molecular and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida. She then completed her medical training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL where she was a founding member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society chapter at her institution and received multiple academic scholarships. Dr. Katz continued her training at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH for both her Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship. During her fellowship she received the Aadel Askari Humanitarian Award for compassionate and empathetic care of her patients.
During her residency and fellowship training she completed research in the areas of myositis and vasculitis, and presented her findings at the national rheumatology meeting of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Katz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), and the Association of Women in Rheumatology. She is a certified clinical densitometrist by the ISCD. In her free time, Dr. Katz enjoys international travel, spending time with her husband and family, and collecting mineral specimens. |
